Chiropractic: The human body is a complex biological machine in which coordination and control reside in the brain, spinal cord, and their associated nerves. All the functions of the body are governed in one way or another, by the activities of the brain, which receives information and transmits instructions via the spinal cord. Proper alignment of the spinal column is critical to good health because the spine houses and protects the spinal cord. The spinal cord is the “switchboard” of the nervous system. If the vertebrae of the spine are out of alignment and muscular tension exists, there may be interference with the activity of the nerves. This interference disrupts normal functioning throughout the entire body. When structural alignment is achieved, nature will be able to restore affected organs and body parts to normal function.
Traditional Chinese Medicine: includes the practice of acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and other techniques. It originated in China thousands of years ago and is now experiencing worldwide acceptance. The World Health Organization has officially recognized acupuncture as suitable for the treatment of hundreds of common clinical disorders. It is also used for preventative care and health maintenance.
Wallace Method: an innovative form of bodywork that integrates dynamic stretching with core stabilization while restoring the body’s structural integrity and balance. In a session, the practitioner guides an individual through a series of yoga-like movements. Slow, twisting, bending, stretching movements gently address restrictions in the joints and encourage the muscles and connection tissue to lengthen. The Wallace Method reduces tension and pain, relieves stress, and improves posture and circulation, generally allowing the organs, nerves and other body systems to function in a more healthy and unrestricted manner.
